Every girl would kill for that job. How many times had Kagome heard that same refrain? Well, right now she was hiding from that job in a props closet crying, and thinking about quitting. Sesshōmaru was known as the ice prince of fashion for a reason. Then… she is discovered but the unlikeliest of allies. How do things change for Kagome when Inuyasha, the photography genius half-brother of Sesshōmaru, finds her in his props closet? A collaboration with the ethereal kalcia!
Inuyasha hated when girls got pushy and weird, and this one (Yura something?) actually nearly called him a slur. So when a girl he doesn’t know walks up and yells at the girl to stop “bothering her boyfriend,” Inuyasha takes notice. When Yura sucker-punches the girl, everything starts to go awry. What can Inuyasha do except for fake the relationship to protect his ‘girlfriend’ from the aftermath? Collaboration with kalcia!
“Madame can see beyond what others can see.” Kagome looked at the golden paint the kindly old woman was offering, the paint that would complete the painting she had poured her soul into: Inuyasha. Her only respite from the life she was trapped in: a betrothal to one she does not love. But when she adds the final touches to her masterpiece, she finds that she must set her life on a new path, for herself, and for the soulmate that has waited for her to return to him for 400 years. Collaboration with ruddcatha!
Something very odd is going on in New York City. Strange holes are opening in the sky and weird creatures are crawling out. For Kagome and Kikyo, this might mean all their theories about demons are true! For Inuyasha, it is just his desperate attempt to get back to his home. What happens when their worlds collide?
Inuyasha loves tornadoes and hates people, especially after becoming a divorcée in his 20s. What happens when his thesis advisor forces a plucky sunny photojournalist on him to go on some tornado chases? A collaboration between Fawn Eyed Girl, mickisketch, and myself!
Kagome has had a couple of drinks, and she knows exactly what she wants to say to that cheating asshole ex of hers. So she texts him a picture. Problem is, she mistyped the number, and proceeded to send said image to a grumpy half-demon at 2am, who vows to get revenge. The question is, will revenge be sweet? A collaboration with nartista (2) (3)!
Inuyasha has a knack for guessing the favorite ice cream flavors of anyone who walks into his ice cream shop: Dog Days. Then comes a day that a brother and sister walk in, and he can’t guess the woman—Kagome’s favorite flavor! Well, this sets off a course of events that change all their lives (for the better!) AMAZING birthday art from MamaBearCat and kalcia (2)!
Kagome and her cousin Kikyo decide to swap blind dates: Kikyo ending up with the doctor and Kagome ending up with the grumpy man with the long black hair. But Inuyasha has a secret he wants to share, which he promises to do at sunrise.
Kagome and her cousin Kikyo decide to swap blind dates: Kikyo ending up with the doctor and Kagome ending up with the grumpy man with the long black hair. But Inuyasha has a secret he wants to share, which he promises to do at sunrise.
Kagome got dumped 6 months ago, but the effects of it still linger. When she finally has a housewarming party, her ex attends. In order to make herself forget, she drags the very very hot silver-haired dog-eared half-demon into her bathroom. But for both Kagome and Inuyasha, this might be the start of something bigger.
Kagome races home, trying to beat the storm and forget about the best friend that she is completely in love with who does not love her back. But when the tornado sirens blare, who should come to her door but her best friend! And after they talk, something amazing happens. Chapter 2 takes place as Inuyasha helps Kagome move to college, and a lot of firsts abound. This included a wonderful collaboration with dreaming-of-soup too!
Kagome’s birthday was going well, it really was, until suddenly there was a knock on the door and an attractive man claimed to be her “birthday present.” It only took a little while to figure out that certain drunk friends had sent her an escort. Inuyasha, for his part, was trying to figure out what he’d gotten himself into, and how he could let Kagome see his half-demon side, disguised under the ‘human’ standing at her door.
There are times when the difference between human and demon traditions is stark. And right now, with Tōga’s prouder-than-sin grin at his naked son and Izayoi’s abject horror at her idiot husband, Inuyasha can only hope that Kagome is the understanding type.
Kagome has returned to Sengoku Jidai, to the home she has now made, to her soulmate. It took less than a week for Inuyasha to become her husband, and for them to commit to their lives together. But Inuyasha is nervous, because nothing prepared him for what comes next. Fortunately, the same cannot be said for Kagome, who has been dreaming of the coming moments for the last three years.
Inuyasha is thinking about Kagome. Inuyasha is touching himself thinking about Kagome. And it feels so good and he’s so caught up in the moment he doesn’t realize someone caught him. Someone who is snickering.
Inuyasha used to hate the new moon. He would stay up all night and wallow in his misery. Then he met Kagome Higurashi. True, he still hated that night, but at least he had started to get a full night’s sleep. That certainly had benefits, namely that in the morning when he woke up feeling invigorated instead of exhausted, he needed to celebrate. Which he always did. With Kagome.

Inuyasha and Kagome are the most frustrated freshmen ever. They thought college would give them a chance to be free, to be… intimate… but instead, both have the world’s most annoying roommates. So what do they do? They make do with the opportunities and places around them. When Inuyasha has had a particularly rotten day, Kagome knows just what to do to cheer him up.
Two months. That was how long Kagome and Inuyasha had been dating. She thought, given that he was a rock god, and not only that, he was a gorgeous rock god, that the wait for him to bed her would be short. But Demonic Aura’s tour schedule kept him away, so they’d never had more than a few hours at a time to see each other. Finally, finally, Inuyasha would be around for a while. And perhaps he has something in store for his girlfriend? In collaboration with dreaming-of-soup ♥️
For Kagome, it started as a tingle. Inuyasha offered his back, like he always did, and Kagome climbed on, like she always did. It was the same hands on her thighs, the same hair that sometimes tickled her nose, the same muscles flexing under her as he ran. So… why did it feel so different, so good? For Inuyasha, it started as a smell. Everything was the same, so why, all of a sudden, was something so addictive and intoxicating—so Kagome—entering his nostrils? They both needed to understand.
Inuyasha picked up the oblong weird stick thing that smelled of Kagome, taking a deep sniff...
"OSUWARI!"
This is what happened directly after our brave hanyō got sat.
Art-writer collaboration with kalcia
Modern mikos don’t have too many options for employment. Their skills are more sideshow now than necessary, but Kagome makes do. When she comes face-to-face with a gorgeous half-demon at a charity event, Kagome realizes quickly how much they have in common. If only all charity events could include someone so exquisitely distracting!
Miroku needs a girlfriend. Fast. Because Uncle Mushin expects to see that Miroku is settling down. After some negotiation, his best friend Kagome agrees to be the best girlfriend ever for him! Everything is going great! Or so he thinks, because one very grumpy half-demon best friend seems to be taking it quite badly.
After she realizes that Inuyasha has chosen Kikyo, Kagome returns the Shikon shards to the Sengoku Jidai in the dead of night, and vows she will remain in her time and never return. But there are some choices capable of setting the world on a different, darker path. When Kagome wakes up to an entirely new future, only she, with the help of Kikyo (who is now a fixture in her soul), can undo the tragedies to which her single choice gave birth.
“So what are you doing to make sure you are a worthy boyfriend to Kagome?” That was the question that Kagome’s friends demanded that Inuyasha answer. He didn’t know what to say, he always thought he was a great boy friend to Kagome. But when Hōjō-kun gifted Kagome smelly ointment, Inuyasha realized that he had to do better. It was time to show everyone just how great a boy friend he could be, after all, Kagome deserved it. But does Inuyasha really want to just be Kagome's boy friend?
Heaven and hell have been fighting over souls since the beginning. The problem was, most souls were already predestined for one or the other. It meant far fewer temptations, far fewer deifications. Because what was the point if someone was already headed up or down? So when it became clear that Inuyasha Taisho was one of the few without a pre-determined destination, both upstairs and downstairs took notice. So the daughters of heaven and hell descended to Earth, to entice Inuyasha one way or another. But what Kikyō and Kagome do not know is what effect Inuyasha is about to have on their destinies.
Kagome never thought it would come to this. Her parents were now gone and the peach orchard that had been in her family for generations was dying. She had no other choice, so she sought out the hanyō of the mountain, ready to bargain for a wish and pay any price he demanded. When she finally finds him, Inuyasha is not prepared for the purity of the wish, or that she has no desire to free herself of the wish’s price by accurately guessing his name. Is Kagome Higurashi the one destined to break his curse?
Once upon a time is such a cliché way to begin a story, but that’s what we’re stuck with. Because this is a “once upon a time” story. Two rival brothers, now enemies, are brought together through a missing princess and a clueless prince. One such brother (the half-demon) is bent on rescuing the princess (who he is secretly in love with) from necromancing royalty, accused of kidnapping said princess. It becomes Inuyasha’s grand quest to ride forth to meet his evil brother and his wind-witch wife, and rescue the princess Kagome from a kingdom built from raising the dead. A worthy quest, right? I guess it depends. After all, history is written by the victors.

Two years ago, Inuyasha found a photograph in the garbage in the dark room. He should have left it there, but he couldn’t. True, the composition was excellent and the lighting just perfect, but it was the way the girl’s eyes that stared back up and out of the photograph that captured his heart. The girl, he realized, who was sitting across from him at Musashi Coffee. A girl that Inuyasha desperately needed to know.
The legends say that atop Shikon Mountain, there is a persimmon tree full of golden fruit. And any traveler who eats of this fruit will see a pagoda appear before them, where it is said a princess sleeps, protecting a great jewel that is able to grant wishes. But the sleeping maiden holds a secret: and only the one who understands the true meaning of their quest has a chance to save her and become a prince.
Based on The Glass Mountain
Inuyasha couldn’t get any grumpier: here he was, carrying a too-drunk-to-walk Kagome back from the bar on his human night. Because Miroku had texted him to take her home. But as he carried his tequila-wired crush, Kagome started telling him things, things she thought she was telling Miroku. Things, Inuyasha realized, that would change their relationship forever in a way he had only dreamed of. Perhaps, his human night would not be so terrible after all!
Inuyasha had finally done it. He'd lost Kagome. He'd done it by forgetting what December 1st was. And he'd done it by making fun of the gawdy sweater she'd decided to wear to school. All because he wanted to be one of the popular kids. So, when he showed up at the Higurashi front door, prepared to do anything to ensure he kept Kagome in his life, he was willing to take help from whoever offered it.
And Kagome needed to talk to her dad. To figure out what to do now that it looked like she'd lost Inuyasha forever. All over the ugly sweater she would never regret wearing, especially on that day. So, with the help of their family, do Kagome and Inuyasha find their way back to each other?
He didn’t know why he kept the beast alive - now only a shell of the brother he spent all those years detesting. Now he simply wished he had had more time. But every time he drew his sword to end the beast’s suffering, some small voice in his head stayed his hand.
“Have hope, she will come.”
The Shrine was special - it was one of the few safe spaces where humans and demons could get together to simply enjoy music and each other’s company, without the bigotry of the outside world judging them. When Kagome scores Demonic Aura, one of the most iconic rock bands around, to play at her venue, she is beyond excited. But what happens after the contracts are signed and she needs to deliver? Especially with a cranky roadie finding fault in nearly everything she does? And how will her venue survive the forces of bigotry that are trying to break it apart?
Every night, the same thing: clicky clicky clicky. Didn’t Inuyasha’s upstairs neighbor know that half demons have sensitive ears and 2:30am is not a time for marathon typing sessions. He had to sleep, and lord knows he tried to sleep. Then one day, after a particularly horrible shift, Inuyasha can’t take it anymore. It’s time to confront his neighbor and tell them to stop with the goddamn loud typing, so finally he knocks on the door. What he sees on the other side though most certainly is not what he expects.
Soulmates are not destined or promised from god. They’re bonds that you build with someone. Problem is, Kagome Higurashi hates Inuyasha Taisho, and his arrogance and gruffness. So when she starts to see a red string wrap around her finger and point toward him, she vows she will never tell a soul. Well, that statement is true for sober Kagome… drunk Kagome had other plans.
(In which Sango and Miroku strand Kagome and Inuyasha in a lake house with no internet to stop acting like idiots. Soulmates are supposed to love each other, goddammit!)
Kagome is running through the forest away from an unknown foe. She trips and falls down a cliff and knocks herself out. When she wakes up, she’s in a cave, and a red-eyed silver-haired demon is taking care of her. She knows she should be scared, but there’s something about him, something in his eyes, that cries out for her. And perhaps, without even realizing it, Kagome is taking care of him too. Collaboration with ruddcatha.
Kagome looked at the well every single day for three years. She knew where she belonged, knew the only way to repair her heartbroken soul. So when she returned, she had no regrets. Not even if those things she felt for Inuyasha were never returned. At least, that was what she thought. But the first night her dreams reminded her of the horrors she endured, and she found out that when Inuyasha vowed to protect her, that was a vow he always would keep.
When Kagome gets back to feudal times, person after person comes over to help her with things. They all have reasons that they love her, and remind her of that. Inuyasha is the last one to drop by, and his becomes the most profound gift of them all.
Kagome is clumsy. That’s just how she is. She walks into calamities without a second thought. One day, an exasperated (and gorgeous) dog-eared demon comes out of the woodwork to save her (...yet again…), revealing for the first time that Kagome’s near-misses have mostly been due to his intervention, and that he is quitting! He means it! He is through with helping her out! But now that Kagome has met him, she wants to see him again. And there is no better way to get his attention than do the ridiculous and death-defying things she has always wanted to do!
Nothing could possibly be worse for Inuyasha than standing there, on his wedding day, waiting for whoever it was that his parents had decided he would marry. Didn’t they know that he had been in love since he was small? Well… the dream of seeing her again has died, replaced with whoever this stranger is. That is, until his bride raises her veil…
It shouldn’t have taken goddamned Kaō for Inuyasha to understand the blackness of his grief over failing Kikyō. He had almost succumbed, almost let that dipshit take him, almost… forgotten. He had failed to protect Kikyō. He didn’t deserve happiness. He deserved to follow her in death. Then he heard Kagome’s voice once more, calling him back from the abyss, reminding him that he deserved to live. (A missing scene of the night after the Inutachi defeated Kaō.)
Inuyasha has a secret. On his human night, he goes to a club to play the saxophone. “The Silver Hound” is known to all middle-aged women around for his smooth and raspy style (and for being easy on the eyes.) Kagome finds out that her mom is a huge fan, so she decides to surprise her one night. Well, needless to say that there were surprises all around!
Inuyasha had finally managed to drag himself out of his house, out of the cavernous loneliness that he felt after Kikyō left. Today he was going to do something for himself: he was finally going to cut off most of his hair. It would be a really nice change. Then while ‘Kagome’ was shampooing his hair, she caressed his ears, just like his mother used to. And for the first time since the breakup, Inuyasha smiled again.
Inuyasha really hated the pushy ones. The ones who seemed to think that taking a woman on a date entitled them to certain things. But… Kagome Higurashi had a good head on her shoulders. But being the bartender when she brought in bad dates meant never actually getting to flirt with her. That is, until the day a pair of idiotic brothers tried to pull the stupidest catfish scheme Inuyasha had ever seen.
Inuyasha is not happy that he’s stuck listening to his next door neighbor (and secret crush) have sex. Again. That is, until… she yells a name. A very very specific name. His name. When his neighbor’s paramour storms out, Inuyasha can’t help but find himself face-to-face with the woman who didn’t understand just how good half-demon ears are at picking up noises. Needless to say, it gets awkward.
All Inuyasha wanted to do was find a companion to help make his days alone less lonely. Was it his fault that he was a dog half-demon who got adopted by a cat? But when the adoption counselor almost called him a slur, he was saved by a single thing: a woman named Kagome, who took over the process. Shippō was going to get a home, and Inuyasha? Well, Kagome does like the grumpy ones.
It had been the best year of Inuyasha and Kagome’s lives. The one that started with a taken seat at the library. So Inuyasha set out to get Kagome—an extraordinary archer—the perfect gift, one that expressed his love to her, one that celebrated what made her the happiest. And Kagome set out to get Inuyasha—an extraordinary swordsman—the perfect gift, one that spoke to how lucky she was to have found him. One that was beautiful, perfect, special, just like him. On the day they deliver each other their gifts, they both realize something, that being together was truly the greatest gift that either of them could receive.
On every child’s fifth birthday, they start to hear the scratching and growls of a monster under their bed. But as long as they never look the monster in the eye, it could not hurt them. Well, Kagome Higurashi was not scared! And just like her cousin Kikyō, she was going to look her monster in the eye! When she pulls up the covers to look, staring back at her are the wide golden eyes of… a small demon boy? And he looks scared of her. This is the story of how Kagome Higurashi befriended her monster under the bed, and how Inuyasha Taisho made the first friend of his very lonely life.
I know what you’re thinking right now. You’re thinking to yourself: why would I sit and listen to the travails of a fox demon about a day that he skipped school? Well, I will tell you why. Because it’s a love story. No, that does not mean that you’ll be stuck listening to me go on and on about stolen glances and hidden touches. Oh no. Sure, that’s there, but that’s not exactly the point. So, will you stick with me? Because if you do, I will tell you about the day that I got my idiot friends Inuyasha and Kagome together, the day that Mr. Manten ‘resigned’, the day my stupid sister found love in a police station, and ultimately, what it is that a fox would do on the last ‘sick’ day that he would ever have before graduating and going off to become an adult. So, will you stick around and listen? Good.
Kagome goes on a date to a restaurant with a guy she thought liked her. But… he was there for a free meal, and left before they had even done dessert. Inuyasha overhears Kagome calling Sango, and gestures to have the waiter bring him the bill for the table and pays. When the wiley waiter lets Kagome know who paid her bill, she can’t resist thanking him in person.
Inuyasha has had it with Sesshōmaru’s bullying, so he leaves, intent on spending the night outside, alone, where half-demons belong. But when he looks up at the night sky, a scent catches his nose, one so cloying that he must follow it to its source. There he finds a girl, Kagome, with her telescope pointed at the stars. When she invites him to join her, Inuyasha realizes that maybe, just maybe, he was wrong about half-demons being destined to be alone.
Kagome gets dared by her friends to go on the scary funhouse ride alone, and to kiss whatever “creature” climbs onto her cart. Kagome is not scared easily, and needs to claim the ‘queen of awesome’ crown, so she enthusiastically agrees to the dare. When Inuyasha climbs onto her cart to do his job, they are both in for a surprise when Kagome suddenly kisses him.
Kagome hands food to a homeless half-demon, which sparks something wonderful. A red string manifests between them, letting them tap into each others’ emotions and marking them as soulmates. Even as the half-demon runs away, Kagome can feel him through the soulmate bond. So she goes home to think what to do next. After asking her soulmated sister for advice, she goes out her door to try to seek him out, but finds that her soulmate is there, hiding up a tree, unsure and scared. So Kagome invites him in.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, and Tsubaki was going to make sure that the Inu no Taisho’s family would feel her wrath. When her engagement to Tōga was broken by her sister Izayoi’s being the man’s soulmate, Tsubaki curses the entire Inu no Taisho line so that they should never find happiness with their soulmates. And when Inuyasha touches the hand of a barista at his local coffee shop, igniting the soul bond, all he can feel is her fear. Will he be cursed to have his soulmates flee from him for eternity? Or will this one, unlike the last, overcome her fear?
Kagome gets a package with meds for a dog suffering from constipation. The name on the package though is her nextdoor neighbor Inuyasha. The hot neighbor. Kagome realizes that for the first time, she really needs to talk to him, for the dog! Little does she know that a prank was afoot. One she’s now a part of.
Just after Inuyasha saved Kagome from the infant who tried to taint her soul, he decides she is not going to be able to get out of his sight ever. Unfortunately for Kagome, that includes when she needs to take care of some intimate bodily functions… How exactly is she going to tell her hanyō protector that pooping is not a spectator activity?
Shippō and Kagome think that Inuyasha’s ears are adorable. They love when his ears twitch, and they want to see his ears twitch more. They make a bet to see who can make his ears perk up more during the day; whoever has the most “twitches” by the end of the day wins! So what happens when the hanyō gets wise to their game? In collaboration with Fawn Eyed Girl.
Inuyasha ends up seeking refuge on a boat before collapsing, having challenged and killed two demons who were harassing a hanyō. When he wakes up, he realizes the ship has left port, indeed, the boat is moving, and he’s tied up, on his way to the Black Shikon, an infamous pirate ship. When he arrives, Inuyasha believes he is destined to walk the plank. When the Arrow of the Black Shikon invites him to parlay, Inuyasha finds he is in for a lot more adventure than he ever bargained for.
Kagome has been dreaming of the same man since forever. He had silver hair and dog ears. And she was convinced that he was her soulmate. But, dog eared men didn’t exist. Her family made that clear and her friends teased her endlessly about it. But, she can’t shake it off, even as she has tried so often. Then one day, a dark haired man with violet eyes declares, “I found you!” And Kagome knows, this man is her soulmate, this man is the dog-eared man.
It’s 1918. Kagome must take care of her family’s Nebraska farm when her parents take her brother into the city with a chance to go to private school, and later maybe even to university! Although she longs to live the lives in the books of fantasy she sneaks from the library, she understands that becoming a farmer’s wife is her purpose. Then, only a day into her solitary vigil, a storm rages and a balloon crashes in her front yard. She has to decide, is she going to go with the silver-haired dog-eared man on a magical adventure, or is she going to stay home where she belongs? In collaboration with dreaming-of-soup!
There she was, dumb girl #25. Stuck on a part of the Rock that meant she couldn’t go up, and she couldn’t go down. Inuyasha rolled his eyes at the girl, wondering which climbing gym gave her grandiose visions of conquering El Capitan. Meanwhile, dumb girl #25, Kagome Higurashi, was trying to not die from embarrassment of needing to be rescued. With a storm coming, Inuyasha needs to hurry, but something beyond either of their control messes with their fate, and makes the stakes that much higher.
“Grandma!” Kagome woke up in a cold sweat. Her grandma had called out to her in her dreams, to come, to hurry. A man with silver hair and golden eyes and blood red robes was there, for good or for ill Kagome could not tell. But she had to go, so she threw on her green cloak and she grabbed her basket to make her way through the woods, unaware that another was following her from the treetops. The reason, she would come to understand, that her grandmother had called for her to come.
(An adaptation of Little Red Riding Hood into the Inuyashaverse)
At 6:04pm, while he was waiting to take the bus home, she would appear. He lived for those moments, waiting at the bus stop together, trying to build up the courage to talk to her. When the day finally came, she was late. And it was raining. And it was all he could do to keep her from catching a cold. But finally, they were traveling in the same direction, together.
The stars always stayed the same. Did that mean, back in the future, Mama and Jii-chan were seeing the same stars as Kagome? Even though she is happy with her choice to return to Inuyasha and to Sengoku Jidai, Kagome still grieves and misses them deeply. Inuyasha sees Kagome's sadness, and comes to his mate's side. It seems he forgot to tell her something very important about being mates.
When an 8 year old Kagome Higurashi sees a boy with doggie ears and golden eyes through the window of Ms. Izayoi's house, she knows she must do something. Doesn't Ms. Izayoi know that everyone, whether they have demonic heritage or not, deserves to play out in the snow?
Do it for the paycheck, Inuyasha thought as he sat in front of the delinquent girls who were destined for remedial school. At least he could sit back and let them goof off, and he could spend his time listening to his favorites: jazz. That was, until that do-gooder Kagome Higurashi came into the picture and foiled all his plans!
Inuyasha, I want to see you.
Kagome’s wish finally re-opened the Bone Eater’s Well, and she returned to Sengoku Jidai, to her friends, and to Inuyasha. And the well never stopped opening when Kagome asked. But in the month since she was reunited with them all, Kagome was still struggling to find out what she and Inuyasha were. Then on the day Kagome pampered an exhausted Sango, her troubles were overheard by a pair of wiggling, furry ears.
Inspired by Sango’s Spa Day by nartista!
He didn't know how long he had been sleeping, trapped in the timeless and endless dark. Then he started seeing a silhouette of her, the one he was born for and was born to meet him. And when she asked for somebody to help her, he would wake up. He knew he would.
“I wish I had never met you!” Kagome yelled at Inuyasha as they both fell through the timeslip of the well. When they climbed out the other side, it became clear that something was not right. The Tokyo they were expecting was no longer there, and as they tried to make sense of the empty world and the lonely shrine, Inuyasha and Kagome would learn that words have consequences, and that they needed each other more than they ever knew. Inspired by this painting by kirrtash.
It should go without saying that one should never get on the wrong side of a witch. After all, they are wise and cunning, and often will exact the punishment upon the unfortunate soul who crossed them that is most fitting of their crime. This is one such tale. It is a tale of a half-demon prince, so loved and coddled by his lordly parents that his mind grew fat with knowledge, but not with common sense. For Inuyasha, the second son of Toga, the Inu no Taisho, did not heed the warnings, and paid for his hubris, a price set to completely alter the course of his privileged life.
Jakotsu had to do something. His grumpy dog hanyō math teacher sometimes made life miserable with his tirades, and seemed to be growing grumpier by the day! Mr. Taisho needed love. When Jakotsu recruited his best friends to help him find the perfect person to make Mr. Taisho’s scowl become a smile, they realized they already had the perfect candidate: their amazing theater teacher Ms. Higurashi. Now… they just had to convince the two of them to fall in love.
Human nights were always the hardest after the well closed for the last time. Human emotions he was able to suppress found their way through all his barriers, and he hated it. But, Inuyasha wasn't alone anymore, he had friends, he had people who loved him, and that made all the difference. Because now, on his human nights, he had them. He had love. And he had snuggles.
Sometimes good lovers are hard to come by. But for Kagome, she is spoiled for choice. Each one of her delicious demon lovers offers her something exciting, something special, and Kagome is going to take advantage of all of those offers. In the end, who would be able to say no to a bronze-skinned wolf yōkai, a silver-haired daiyōkai, or a gold eyed inu hanyō? Certainly not Kagome!
Angels have always been on earth. Since the first human looked at their reflection and asked the question who am I? That was how long Sesshōmaru had been on earth too, reaping the souls of the departed and shepherding them to the afterlife. It was the purpose of an angel. But then, when he came to reap the life of a small girl, he met her, the doctor who refused to give up. And for the first time in his existence, Sesshōmaru asked the question too: who am I? and he didn’t know. All he knew was that, perhaps, Dr. Kagome Higurashi, the first to make him ask, was the only one who could help him find the answer.
With their names signed into the ledger, Miroku and Sango are now husband and wife. It feels almost impossible that they would have this moment, this happiness, in spite of everything that has happened, but they are here, together, to celebrate. As Miroku leads Sango back to their hut, to make love to her for the very first time, he cannot help but thank the kami for giving him this chance to be with the one that he loves. The one that he lives for. When Sango lays in her marriage bed, jubilation dancing in her eyes, she thinks of her husband, too: the light that led her out of the darkness.

It happened so fast. Tōga saw the streak of silver hair and a flash of golden eyes in the park near where he walked. A child who had dog ears and Inu features. But it wasn't until he saw that child run into the arms of his mother that Tōga knew.
Izayoi had gotten pregnant from their fateful night together three years ago, and hadn't told him. So at that moment, Tōga was staring at his own child. For Izayoi's part, she only thought to protect Inuyasha from the scrutiny of Tōga bitter divorce from Inukimi, and the intense scrutiny that would have come at her being the other woman and Inuyasha being born out of wedlock.
Now that the truth is out, can Tōga and Izayoi find each other again? And will Inuyasha get to meet his father?
“Sex On The Beach, please.” If Hōjō had known what those words would ultimately do to him, maybe he would not have said them. Unfortunately, Hōjō did say them, and it was going to change everything.
It started with a guitar in my hands, and a promise that I would not let it sit unused in a basement. Then came the lyricist, who heard the words in my music. With her, we found our sounds and our songs, and I scored a record deal, launching me into the stratosphere of rock. But fame is fickle, and every dollar, every record, every concert can leave you wanting more. And the higher you fly, the harder it hurts when you come crashing back down to Earth.
Kōga looked at Kagome in disbelief. Was that a summoning circle she was standing in?!?! Apparently Kagome had secrets she kept about what she got up to on the night of the full moon, and Kōga wanted answers. Unfortunately for him, he'd forgotten about something extremely important, something that happened to him on the night of the full moon. Because, from the look on her face, he was also about to have to give her some answers about his own full moon secret.
There is a reason that the Olympic Village supplies so many condoms. Athletes need to find ways to relax and celebrate, right? When Kagome meets an absolutely gorgeous wolf demon from the French team, she decides it’s time to ‘relieve some of that post-competition tension.’ And with this much chemistry, who needs a common language?
Ginta and Hakkaku have watched this a million times. Well, maybe not exactly this. Because usually when Kōga blows up their phone about a new someone it's with declarations of love. In the case of the "dog-eared idiot," Hakkaku has a feeling that all that loathing is actually something else, and he and Ginta are going to help.
Shizu has lived on the coast all her life. She's lived under the horror of the bat demons who raid her village, who killed her father. But Shizu has always been strong. One day during a confrontation with the headman, the unlikeliest of allies comes to Shizu's aid.
It was getting embarrassing. Even once the restraining order was in place, Onigumo still found new ways to make sure Kikyō couldn’t forget him; summoning demons to attack her was certainly a creative way to deal with rejection. Then one day, a demon like she had never seen before comes to her doorstep, and Kikyō realizes that it’s time to finally say a bloody goodbye to Onigumo, once and for all.
Rin thought her entire family died the night the bandits massacred her village, the night her mother told her to be quiet and to hide. But two survived the massacre that night, and now Rin’s mother will do anything to find her daughter again. Even if it means inciting the wrath of a powerful daiyōkai.
Hōjō has a crush. A giant crush. Someone who is mysterious and so hard to pin down. But who is it that Hōjō has been daydreaming about? On the fateful day of the school play, Hōjō realizes that he will never be able to go back. Princes are as much deserving of rescue as princesses, right?
You know the saying: there is no place as beautiful and supportive as a ladies’ room at a club. Kagome is about to find this out first hand after her boyfriend (or so she thought) walks out on her, leaving her with a bar tab she can’t pay. Then the world’s most beautiful woman decides to rescue her, along with her girlfriend who… is also the most beautiful woman in the world? And they both offer to make her terrible night better—who is Kagome to say no to that?
Sango is at her best friend Kagome’s. They’re talking, and Sango is pouring her heart out about the dog demon in her engineering class, specifically about her feeling for him (and especially his hotness). Unfortunately she did this with open windows, and Sesshōmaru is a neighbor of Kagome’s. And he heard the whole thing. While his dad was visiting. (Inspired by this TIFU)
Kagome has been hunting ‘the Killer Doll’ for years, and she finally has a big break in the case: an apartment number of the next likely victim. Little does Kagome know that “Renkotsu” was simply a lure, so that the Killer Doll could deliver the FBI agent a message.
At first, Inuyasha thought it was sort of funny. A little weird, but funny. But underwear keeps disappearing from his clothesline and it’s getting annoying. So he goes to find the underwear stealer and confront them and finds it’s… a really gorgeous girl. Who has no idea why a half-demon is yelling at her about underwear. Well… that is until he finds the culprit. (inspired by this)
When I see your last moments, being held by the silver haired man, I hope that he will set you free. I am angry you did not get your revenge, but still I run as fast as I can to the gate, waiting and wanting to be the first to greet you here. Were you able to break your chains Kikyo? I want to thank you for saving me. I want to look at you and see if your eyes are still sad. I want to ask you if you know how the children fared. I want to find out if you want my company as desperately as I want yours. And so I wait.
The whale sounds were soothing, Izayoi claimed. And the yodeling? Well, everyone needed to understand parts of different cultures. When the “learn how to speak German” came on, at that point Tōga was definitely catching on. Because according to Mō-Mō Construction, coworkers weren’t allowed to date. Even if the coworker was a gorgeous perfect specimen of dog demon that certain red-blooded women had ever seen. And work trips were not for paying attention to said crush, or the suspicion that it was mutual. But Izayoi’s friend Kaede had some tricks up her sleeve, and their boss Tōtōsai had not paid nearly enough attention to the bed & breakfast reservations he made.
Izayoi's father's car breaks down. When he finds a mysterious manor, the host is generous enough to feed him and pay for his car's repair. As the father departs, he steals a single white chrysanthemum to give to his beloved daughter, invoking the wrath of his host: the Inu no Taisho, who is a giant dog. To pay for the theft, Izayoi and her father are brought to have dinner with their host. Izayoi stays with the Inu no Taisho as he promises to help her father regain his fortune. But when the seasons turn as readily as their luck, will Izayoi stay with her host or return to the shallow life she once lived? An homage to Angela Carter’s “The Courtship of Mr. Lyon”
It was long known that there was something odd about the secretiveness of the Yamamoto clan. They conquered lands brutally and violently, to become one of the most powerful houses in Japan, yet somehow, their armies were small. It was also said that none could invade their manor, because those who tried were met with swift and violent deaths. The secret of their success was much whispered about, but never discovered. And it was a secret that would die with Yamamoto Izayoi, the great princess who disappeared without a trace, and the last in the Yamamoto line, the portent of that clan’s destruction. And yet, it is also the story of a brave princess who freed her ancestors from a generation’s curse, all through the power of her love. In collabration with nartista!
Izayoi kneeled before the shrine. She knew that this shrine was dangerous, even understood why many called it the shrine of last resort, but she could not let her sister die this way. Midoriko had a family who was depending on her, and Izayoi, after all, was the youngest. So she asked for her sister’s life, and promised that she would give anything for it. When a silver haired god appears, he will grant her wish, but it comes with a price. One that at least someone thinks is a bit too steep.
(inspired in part by this prompt)
Sometimes the chickens come home to roost, and Izayoi can no longer look at her relationship with Tōga as something abstract, not when the statuesque perfection that is his wife InuKimi is standing at her door. But InuKimi is not there solely for a confrontation, she is there for something else too.
Naraku never was a bootlegger as he claimed. Kikyō knew this, and yet she chose to look the other way. But now, with the gun in her hand, she realizes she can’t pretend anymore. She created heaven for the devil, and now she must pay the price.
Kanna (Brown Recluse), Kagura (Redback), Hakudoshi (Brazilian Wandering Spider), Tsubaki (Brown Widow), and finally, Naraku (Funnel Web). Those were the assassins who took everything from me—my family, his family, my fiancé and our daughter. But they made one cardinal mistake: they left me alive. So one by one, I will send them all to hell. I was never ‘Black Widow,’ I was always ‘Kikyō.’ They will all learn that lesson soon enough and they will all suffer my wrath. Inspired by Kill Bill.
Sesshōmaru caressed the quills of the delicate white feather in his hand. Did you become the wind, Kagura? he would ask under the curtain of night, the only time he let his longing surface. One night, under a crescent moon, the feather seems to have a life of its own, leading him back to the very spot he last saw her, but something is different about this place. Something that gives Sesshōmaru hope.
Kagura got her heart back and escaped with her life. But she found something out about herself: she was a hanyō, and was protected by Naraku’s hold on her heart. When she turns human on the night of the crescent moon (a crescent moon that looks all too familiar), someone comes to her side.
Kagura was an idiot. She knew she was. Kissing her former boss at her going-away party. It was rash, it was stupid. It was… something more? When Kagura gets a text from Sesshomaru to meet him, she can’t help but wonder what’s to come this close to Christmas, with the boss she just can’t get out of her head?
Kagura knows Sesshōmaru will never understand. She will never have those things that everyone else does, because she does not control her own fate. But maybe now, maybe today, she can take her destiny in her hands; that is, if Sesshōmaru sees fit to grant her the only battle she’s not afraid to die for.
Inuyasha and Kagome are sick of their friends Sango and Miroku arguing. Miroku plays the field and Sango does not thankyouverymuch. So they claw at each other over it and hurt each other, because neither idiot will admit why they do it (their secretly being in love is obvious to all their friends). After a particularly exhausting exchange, Inuyasha and Kagome concoct a plan to get their friends together once and for all. Because camping and canoeing is good for the soul, especially when the two souls in question need each other as desperately as Miroku and Sango do.
Sango has been going to the coffee shop with the hot barista for a month now. And she’s been getting more and more complicated drinks so she can flirt with him. Almost to the point she wasn’t able to afford the drinks anymore. Fortunately, Miroku (the barista) seems to have figured out something was amiss, and decides that he is the one that needs to make a move!
Pickled daikon and lotus root and tofu, no, that did not satisfy. Then rabbit and miso and even some crane, and Sango was still starving. Because what she wants, what she craves, is something that pregnant women are not supposed to want. Her husband. But Kaede has been around a long time, and knows better, and Inuyasha is far too observant, so perhaps, this time, Sango will finally get what she wants.
Sango has had an exhausting week at work. Her favorite patient was fighting and fighting, then the tests turned for the worst. He had to go to hospice. Miroku recognizes his wife’s distress and promises to fix up and clean the house, and even make dinner. What Sango does not know is how far Miroku is enthusiastically going to make his wife’s week better. Inspired by this amazing art!
There was something haunting about the music that the violin player was creating outside the library that day. It set her daydreaming about worlds of old, worlds of the fantastical. So when her librarian friend Kagome recommended the book: A Feudal Fairy Tale, she couldn’t resist! But who was this Miroku who thought that it was okay to scribble notes all over a book anyway? And why did Sango feel like she knew “Miroku” solely by reading his notes? Perhaps the answers lie with the man outside the library, who plays the violin.
Sango had a terrible day. It started with the Chief calling her into his office to tell her about the newest way Kohaku had gotten into trouble: committing a felony this time. But it didn’t end there. When she walked into a bar, needing to escape from the talk she already dreaded the idea of having, her bartender was the last person she expected. So how does Sango deal with seeing Miroku, Kohaku’s baseball coach behind the counter?
Kagome Higurashi hates the confinement of her royal life. It is smothering, her mother and (step)father understand that, right? It’s why she was so angry when they hired a wolf demon to act as her bodyguard. Honestly, it just made the castle feel more confining. It’s why she knows all the exits from the castle. Unfortunately being good at escaping sometimes doesn’t translate into being good at blending in. And this time, the little lady was lucky that Kōga was good at his job, or she would have lost everything. Unfortunately, that did not mean they both made it out unscathed.
Kagome is in a long distance relationship and it's falling apart. Kagome has already made a commitment to move to Australia, but her boyfriend met someone else. She’s devastated, but intends to move, so she does. Not the sensible thing to do, especially having not actually secured an apartment in Sydney. Something that her obnoxious (and obnoxiously gorgeous) wolf demon Uber driver lets her know. But, all’s well that ends well after all! Especially for Kagome, who clearly picked the right Uber.
Inukimi thought that her son loved his mother enough to actually try to meet someone. Tōga’s second marriage is coming up and Sesshōmaru has not even tried to find a date. So InuKimi does what any mother who loves her son would do. She invites the nice-smelling girl who owns the tea shop she and her wife Kikyō frequent. After all, sometimes mothers do know best.
Rin has a problem. Her dad is the best, but she knows that he is lonely. And really, she could use a mom too. That’s why, when he asks her if someone is re-doing her ponytail, Rin is honest: “Miss Kagome fixes my hair everyday!” When Sesshōmaru decides to accompany her to school in order to ‘have a chat’ with Miss Kagome, Rin couldn’t be happier! This is always how all the best fairy tales start, after all!
Kagome has always sensed something off about the world. She can’t explain it, but there are times she swears that she feels a presence beyond the ordinary. Her grandmother told her that answers would arrive to her in due time. When the day finally comes, and she is led into a bookstore, Kagome is offered a choice by the proprietor therein. But is she ready for The World Unseen?
There are times that making bets is a bad idea. Sesshōmaru probably should have considered this more carefully before he agreed. Because Kirinmaru played to win, and now Sesshōmaru was going to be made to pay—made to suffer. As he looked at the corset and the high heels he was going to have to wear, amused hazel eyes caught his own.
Kagome never really talked about the fact that she was struggling for money, but somehow someone seemed to know. She never asked for it, but it was there. For Kagome. An envelope with enough for her late electricity bill, or her car’s dead battery, enough to keep her head above water. When she sleuthed it out that the quiet man in the corner of the diner was the one who was leaving those envelopes, the one that just ordered black coffee late at night, the one with the silver hair, Kagome needed to understand why.
Sesshōmaru has had it up to here with his employees. They back-sass when it is unnecessary, and sometimes just don’t exude the mood of the place, especially Kagura (who... somehow goaded him into this). There’s only one thing to do: he must don the apparel and show them himself!
Inspired by this beautiful art!
“Let go of it, Kagome!” The demon shouted, his fangs bared as he advanced on her. Red eyes, silver hair, gleaming white fangs, like every one of her nightmares.
Little did Kagome know, but Sesshōmaru had been watching her for a long time. And finally, he had to reveal himself, no longer the entity just out of sight, because the other threats were nothing compared to this one, and he had vowed to protect her. In collaboration with stardust414!
Kagome has had a crush on the utterly untouchable and very very hot demon in her comparative literature class. Problem is, every time she tries to approach, he turns and walks away. Finally, when she is at the end of her rope, she asks her friend Shippō for help. Shippō says it simply: treat the dog like a cat and see what happens.
He watched from his seat on the Moon, while day turned to monotonous night and then back again. He barely noticed as the Earth went dark, conquered by the dark one. But then, a beacon of light caught his eye, and there she was, and he could not look away. And when she gave all to return the world to light, Sesshōmaru chose, for the first time, to act.

Kagome was cornered. She knew this. Because once the Lord Sesshōmaru decided to pursue you, it was over. Kagome had but a single choice, use her skills as a witch and see if she could strike a bargain with the daiyōkai: that she would grant him three wishes in exchange for sparing her life. Can Kagome really escape with her life in this battle of wits? And what is it that Sesshōmaru wishes for?
Based on this prompt.
It was only a matter of time, Sesshomaru knew that. But, when it finally happened, when the Bone Eater’s well opened and his brother’s escapades started in the modern era, he was not entirely prepared. This series of one-shots follows the adventures of Inuyasha in Kagome’s world, through the eyes of Sesshomaru, the one who is tasked with cleaning up the mess. In collaboration with ruddcatha
Kagura was a survivor. She did what was necessary to stay alive. The only person she could count on was herself. If she wanted to be free, then she would have to do it herself. Or so she thought. Kanna was supposed to be the soulless void, following Naraku’s orders without feeling. So what was she doing, standing here, Kagura’s heart in her hand? Was Kanna really offering Kagura a chance to be free?
Jinenji was the first, bounding into town the day that his ma died. Kaede made it clear that Musashi welcomed everyone, big and small, demon, human, or hanyō. Then it was Shiori, who arrived with her mother to find a safe place. When Kagome returned and a miko married a hanyō, orphans began to arrive. And Musashi welcomed them all, because a home is a home and a good heart is a good heart.
They started with Kyōkotsu, and I felt nothing. When Mukotsu was gone, I felt relief. Ginkotsu and Renkostu mourned one another, so what was my purpose feeling anything? And Suikotsu accepted his fate in silence. Jakotsu looked to me for comfort, and I hoped my gaze brought him solace. When I watched them take Banryu away I truly started to feel something, but do I regret a single thing? Absolutely not.
Shippō really loved being taken care of. Letting others feed him, carry him, and even think and fight for him was what any orphaned kitsune deserved! But, when Kagome gave him pocky when he did something for the Inutachi, Shippō began to wonder, what else was open to him if he tried a little harder?
There's a whole lot more to being a superhero than punching baddies.
There's a whole lot more to being a parent than changing diapers.
At least Inuyasha and Kagome have each other.

In Sengoku Jidai, everyone can be defined by the choices they make. Sometimes those choices lead them to sin, and sometimes to virtue. Here are seven vignettes, where characters’ relationships are defined by their paths. A sin for a virtue, a virtue for a sin.

A collection of ficlets that have been inspired by artwork and other creations. They're short, they're sweet, and the creations they are based on are beautiful and masterful! Everything that is in this has been reproduced with explicit permission from the inspirer/artist.
A series of ficlets, drabbles, and mini-stories in the Inuyasha-verse that come to my brain and need to be written.
